The most recent iteration of heating fuel is called Bioheat® Fuel. As of July 1, 2018, New York adopted a new standard that requires any heating oil sold within Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester counties to contain at least 5% biodiesel (B5).

What is Bioheat® Fuel?

Bioheat® Fuel is a blend of biodiesel and ultra-low sulfur heating oil. Biodiesel is produced from a variety of renewable resources, such as plant oils, animal fats, recycled grease, and even algae, making it one of the most sustainable fuels on the planet.

  • Bioheat® Fuel produces the same satisfying heat as standard heating oil
  • According to studies, Bioheat® Fuel performs just as well as, if not better than, conventional heating oil.
